In addition to all the seriously awesome ideas that Pong had, I would like to add that it is essential to absolutely saturate the web with your name, your domain, your product. Adding it to yahoo is great. Getting it high up on the list at google is better. But, it must be listed everywhere, creating an exponential effect. I've been using a lot of tools to do that. In the "old days" (1996-2000), you could do it manually. Now I use a couple of products (one of them is Artemis Pro) to do this. It works a lot harder than I can and has proven to bring in a lot of hits.

Keep blogging everyone!

Your tips are great, but I must admit some of them went over my head. I am new to this and found some software that seems like it would be helpful. One is called Artemis Pro and the other is called Glyphius. Artemis Pro helps with article submission and Glyphius helps by letting me know if my copy is up to par. Have any of you ever used either of these? I look forward to your feedback. -Lee

Fantastic tips, I think number 4 is the most important!

I also like the use of copywriting, High quality articles written in Artemis Pro can solve this.

Thank you for this blog. Great tips on increasing earnings.

I agree with Si that ArtemisPro is great for improving and revising content (to get past the duplicate police) and for automatically submitting to 1000s of sites at once! I believe this program was created by James Brausch. His web site is www.jamesbrausch if you want to learn more.

Thanks again for the helpful post!

I'm really glad you guys asked about Artemis Pro, because that's just what I've been using for all my article submission now. I write a lot of small articles, mostly on sports, with tips and helpful hints for people. I used to send these out manually, hoping to get the attention of a publisher. I was spending more time on submissions that I was on writing. Since switching over to Artemis Pro, the submissions take care of themselves and I just work on what I do best, writing.

Hi,

Great tips! May I also suggest using Artemis Pro to promote your site and earn more money from your blog?

I started using Artemis Pro, too, to submit all my blogs, articles, sites, etc. Previously, I had always done it manually (what an idiot!), but since using Artemis Pro, my traffic is considerably higher.

Hi John,

Working from home is the new American dream isn’t it? You have some really great tips here on how to generate interest in your site; one of the more important tips being search engine submission. I don’t think enough entrepreneurs realize how vital it is to do a little research first before utilizing the potential power that web has to offer. That said I wanted to know if you’ve had any experience with tools that help with the efficiency of article submission? Programs like Artemis Pro are invaluable when drawing traffic to your site with article submissions. Like another poster mentioned, manual submission is a thing of the past. Check out Artemis pro and let me know what you think.

Great post, I'm impressed with the last point. Waiting until you have 10 posts is a very good idea before issuing the press release.

I find writing press releases very difficult, I got lots of advice from Tim-Warren.com because I had no idea where to start!

Great tips!

I think the blogroll is a very important tool and have done since James Brausch suggested the idea to me.

I like the types you presented here especially the blogrolling and pinging. I just started blogging & I have been using glyphius to maximize my language use. It basically lets me compare my writing to successful advertisements and scores each line & word. It has done pretty well for me but I will have to try some of the tips you have on your blog to do even better. Thanks

Great tips I must say - and all the suggestions from the comments about James Brausch are right on (http://www.JamesBrausch.com) - he has a lot of good tools for Internet marketing.

Another cool traffic tip would be submitting to blog carnivals. I learned that from James D Brausch!
